Thanks... you can now explain to Diaryland why I am no longer able to update my diary, due to my blindness.
Dear Readers of Weetabix,
This is the most difficult email I think I've ever had to write. As you may have guessed, Weet and I shared a special e-lationship, emailing photos and jokes back and forth, as well as personal emails. Lately, we've been working on a project that we had hoped would provide an amusing waypoint on the internet, a spot of humor full of inside jokes aimed towards the Diaryland community.
As part of our online friendship, we would exchange amusing forwards, pictures, and jokes as we saw fit. A sort of one upmanship began to exist between us. This rivalry was entirely on my part, and I regret it. This one sided contest ended today abruptly, when Weetabix was blinded by the SDS Men Calendar I presented to her today. My moment of triumph and victory was cut bitterly short, as I realized the fire that I was playing with.
Using pictures from UglyPeople.com someone had made a rather amusing calendar with a kind of "best of" from their many pictures. I would warn you however, to only wear sunglasses, or better yet, be intoxicated while viewing the site, lest you yourselves are blinded from the march of horrible visages that await. I would hate to think that I had blinded anyone else, so please, view only whilst wearing your 'beer goggles' or similar protection. It has not yet been determined if viewing the page through a bottle of Vodka is an acceptable protection, so it is not advised.
There is some small hope of recovery, though it is not an easy one. The best minds of medical science are working tirelessly on the issue, with only the return of her sight being their goal. In the meantime, physical therapist and vision impaired specialists are working with her in an attempt to teach her typing by Braille. As you know, Ms. Bix is a fighter. She will be back.
She appreciates your words of support and encouragement. We are working at updating her Amazon.Com wishlist to include Audio Books and other aural media, once that is completed it will be announced here. Also, we will be holding a signed T-Shirt auction later in the month to raise funds to supplement her disability payments. If you would like to volunteer please send us an email, care of weetabix@diaryland.com
Sincere Regrets,
Chauffi
They might be very strange holiday cards.
